A Peak For All

SYNOPSIS

A Peak for All follows an inclusive mountain project that explores how alpinism can connect people regardless of their physical abilities or personal circumstances. Accompanying the participants on their journey into the alpine world, the film captures the trust, teamwork, and mutual support that emerge along the way. Rather than focusing on performance or reaching the summit, it places the emphasis on participation, courage, and the shared experience of being in the mountains. Through the encounters between participants, the film reveals how sport can break down barriers and create a sense of belonging. It also highlights the role of initiatives, clubs, and supporters in making inclusive outdoor experiences possible. At its heart, the film celebrates the unifying power of sport and the potential of nature to bring people together.

MY STATEMENT

“Together with my trusted colleague and friend Simon Straetker, I directed and filmed the project, accompanying the participants into the mountains with a documentary approach. I was responsible for editing the film, developing its narrative structure from observational footage and finding a rhythm that reflects the shared experience rather than focusing solely on the destination.

Working on this French-language film was also an opportunity to put my French skills to the test. What drew me to the project was the chance to document how sport can create connections across different backgrounds and abilities. I wanted to capture the moments of trust, solidarity, and shared achievement that show how the mountains can become a space of inclusion and belonging.”
